Systems Engineering at Thales

Develop technical solutions that not only work well but make things safer and easier for our customers. As a System Engineer, you are involved in the entire process – from the first contact with the customer and proposing the system design to building, testing and delivery. You play a central role.

Building a safe future together

At Systems Engineering, you are essential for the success of our projects. Your knowledge and skills of a certain domain, technology or specialism help us to make a difference. Do you want to work with us? Below we give you a few examples of roles that may suit you!

Systems Engineer

As a Systems Engineer, you’ll be discussing your solution with the customer one moment and defining the interaction between our command & control system and other systems on board a frigate the next. Or on board of a ground forces vehicle! Your portfolio is very versatile. And what about your team? If you start working for our radars, for example, you will work together with enthusiastic Radar Architects, System Engineers, HW/SW Engineers and Test Engineers, specialists in a specific field (such as pulse-Doppler radars/FMCW radars, signal processing, tracking...) and general experts. Together you will be given every opportunity to develop the best solutions for our customers. We look forward to seeing you here.

Systems Architect

As a Systems Architect, you and your colleagues will be working on the design, development and validation of one of our solutions, for example a naval command & control system. Your team will also consist of customer representatives, subsystem suppliers and other parties involved. You will discuss the operational needs with the customer, design the smartest architecture, define the system’s functional behaviour and perhaps manage technical issues of subcontracts. Not a single week is the same!

EMC Engineer

As an EMC engineer, you know better than anyone else how important is it to get involved in a project in a timely manner! After all, without good EMC plans you will end up with extra, expensive, work afterwards. Your main task is preparing EMC test programs, advising customers, translating EMC standards into specific tests, defining EMC processes and securing our EMC accreditation scope. You can be found everywhere: with different teams, in the office and on-site at the customer. And we are happy with you everywhere.

This is not just a dream job: it’s a dream career!

Multidisciplinary teams, international projects and new technologies – you can be sure that you will never be bored here. Moreover, we think it is important that you have the space to develop, and our managers encourage that! And did we mention the 40 days off per year, a nice end-of-year bonus and the freedom to organize your working hours (and workplace!) flexibly? Need we say more?
